As a result of the degree show series at the University of Portsmouth in 2012, Andrew was the recipient of the Aspex Graduate Award 2012. The award is given to students from the summer show at the University by Aspex, a local art organisation and gallery. The prize for the award includes an exhibition sometime in the future and this was what led to this show.
Through this award Andrew was commissioned to expand his photographic series, ‘A Road Petrol Stations at Night’ from the initial 3 images to 10 images which were then exhibited in the Aspex Guildhall gallery in the centre of the city. During the three months of exhibition between August and October 2014 the work was seen by thousands of people and gained international attention from many organisations including the Royal Institute of British Architects.
